About this piece

Why it exists.

The 16-fold rotational lattice of Moroccan zellige, opened up at the edges and burned in spice-market colour: saffron, coral, vermilion, rust on a charcoal frame, with a black tracery on top that reads as flame as much as tile. Ten layers, square format, made to anchor a room.
